Wally was rescued by Laura's Hope Rescue on September 26, 2020. Wally was found alone on the side of a road in Georgia, full of worms and in a blanket.

Wally's dad shares his story......

Wally was a special puppy the first day we brought him home. He loved meeting people and brought them so much joy.

How Wally's therapy dog certification came about was Wally and I were at a Veteran's benefit. Wally went to say hi to the Veterans from the Gino Merli VA. There was one particular veteran he met. I brought Wally over to say hi and the gentleman raised his head, started to pet Wally and told us about his military background. After we met the veteran, a person from the VA came over to us and asked what did the gentleman say to you. I let them know.  They then told me that the veteran has not lifted his head for them in over 3 months, but Wally was able to do that. They asked me if Wally would like to come to the VA to see the veterans, which we did and still do.

Wally became a Therapy Dog in the beginning of 2022 and is now a Therapy Dog at the Gino Merli VA, The Wilkes Barre Scranton Airport and Residential Hospice where he touches the hearts of everyone he meets.

Now, Wally is also my Adventure Partner. We have over 900 miles the last two years, hiked 27 different State Parks, part of the Appalachian Trail State Forests and hiked to numerous Waterfalls throughout his Adventures. Wally has also thrown out the first pitch at the Railriders game, walked in the Scranton Santa Parade, Scranton St. Patrick's Day Parade, Clarks Summit Ice Festival Parade, had children read to him from the South Abington Elementary School.
